No Words Needed : John Gray

No Words Needed

Stop apologizing for being Christian, stop compromising
Put down your culture, put up your kingdom
The only color that matters is red

Worship is Powerful
When we let out a certain sound, it lets God know we're ready for the next thing

God came to announce himself to the broken not the content. Jesus is an experiential Jesus not an academic Jesus.

The world portrays so many versions of Jesus.
Religion doesn't necessarily mean giving God explanation for everything, often times no words are needed for God to hear you.

Luke 7:36-50
The lady and the alabaster bottle.
God turns to the broken women but speaks correction to Simon who is seen is spiritually elite.

God's doing what He does with those people thought we wouldn't do it with. Pharisees didn't understand that there is no qualifications for the blessings of God.

Her tears
Nothing breaks up pretension like desperation.
God doesn't need our worship, He welcomes it.

Why don't we welcome who Jesus welcomes?
Ushers / church folk can throw shade about your appearance when you go to church but if it was Jesus He would take you as you are.

We are not a museum for the spiritually elite but a hospital for the broken.
The church likes the kind of brokenness that you can hide. This woman was a "known" sinner.

What was about Jesus that offended the "religiously elite" and caused the broken to be drawn to Him. Jesus loves us as we are.

We don't let strangers into our houses.
Maybe Simon didn't say anything because they lady as been there before. All the men know her. TEA
But she didn't come to embarrass them, she came for Jesus.
She honored Jesus better than anyone in the room, these men assumed they were on Jesus's level.
No verbal dialogue but there was an eternal exchange.

Why did you bring a year's worth of perfume? She was using it to cover up the stench of her sins but it wasn't working. External cleansing doesn't work. She takes her effort to clean herself and pours it before Jesus.
Then she wipes His feet with her hair. "The glory of a women is her hair" she laid down her glory to the one who was worthy.

She her about Him and Jesus approaches the broken and speaks life.
Her weeping turns into worship.
And she didn't say a word.

God covers her and them!
May we have grace for those going through life and transitioning.
God fights for them even when they have no words left.
Worship when you have no words.
You don't have to repeat your shame just ask God for forgiveness. In the midst of the law grace invaded the life of the broken.
You don't have to embarrass yourself, you just have to get to Jesus.

You are never outside of the possibility of getting saved. No one is.
