I'm On Assignment

“After telling this story, Jesus went on toward Jerusalem, walking ahead of his disciples. As he came to the towns of Bethphage and Bethany on the Mount of Olives, he sent two disciples ahead. “Go into that village over there,” he told them. “As you enter it, you will see a young donkey tied there that no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. If anyone asks, ‘Why are you untying that colt?’ just say, ‘The Lord needs it.’”

And sure enough, as they were untying it, the owners asked them, “Why are you untying that colt?” And the disciples simply replied, “The Lord needs it.” So they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their garments over it for him to ride on.

When he reached the place where the road started down the Mount of Olives, all of his followers began to shout and sing as they walked along, praising God for all the wonderful miracles they had seen. “Blessings on the King who comes in the name of the LORD! Peace in heaven, and glory in highest heaven!””
‭‭Luke‬ ‭19:28-31, 33-35, 37-38‬ ‭NLT‬‬

God doesn't assign us based upon our preference but based upon your purpose in HIM. You're not going to be pleased with all the assignments. As Christians, we have to live our assigned lives. God wants to challenge us more and more with His assignments so we can become more dependent on Him.

Instruction
  • Many of us are stuck as babies in Christ because we don't know how to take instruction. Our way isn't God's way.
  • God doesn't need brand new to do something you. His blessings come in many forms. He can bring something new through the familiar.
  • At best, you can hope to be the donkey that brings Jesus along with them on their back.
  • The donkey is tied up and has never been ridden on. How would know it has never been ridden on? God's always giving us ambiguous information but we have to walk in faith.
  • It's good to see what God said be brought to pass!
Presentation
  • The earth is the Lord's and the fullest thereof. He was the master of the donkey even though he wasn't the owner. God ALWAYS has control, no one can denounce His throne.
  • God's Word is enough. It's still POWERFUL, it still has AUTHORITY. know your word and stand on it.
  • The storm is coming to test what God has promised you. The enemy is intimated because because God is elevating and you're closer to fulfilling your assignment.
  • They gave God just what he asked for, no more no less.
  • Obedience is better than sacrifice. But sacrifice is still very important.
  • When you get what you've been looking for, don't put that thing over Jesus. Everything is better and his hands.
  • They set Jesus on top of who they are, does God have you as much as he has your stuff?
  • God needs ALL OF YOU. God wants more of your time.
Inspiration
  • The crowd has to wait on the obedience of the disciples so they can follow Jesus.
  • Who's waiting on YOUR obedience so they can follow Jesus? We think our obedience doesn't have consequences for other but they do. There is a crowd waiting on you. Are you following God and inspiring others.
  • What do people catch from you? Do they catch an attitude? Do they catch anger? Or do they catch the love of Christ?
