The power of God working within you is a reflection of your prayer life.
Do the dreams that you have for your life match up with your prayer life? Many of us want signs and wonders but we don’t want to get on our knees and speak to the Father. On top of that, many of us are "crisis christians" that only go to God in times of trouble. Prayer should always be your first choice not your last chance. Check your motives when your pray. God weighs the motives before He weights the actions.
Proverbs 16:2 NIV
"All a person’s ways seem pure to them,
but motives are weighed by the Lord."

Until you understand the power of prayer, you cannot experience exponential spiritual growth. Why? Because God can’t move on your behalf unless He hears from you! The initiative of prayer is in your hands! This year, make it a priority to speak to God every. single. day. Not out of obligation, but out of love and desire for Him. And if you lack a hunger and desire to draw closer to God, ASK HIM FOR IT, He will give it you and reveal to what may be holding you back from truly experiencing His love.
Luke 11:9-10 NLT
9 “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”
And don’t forget to surround yourself with a body of believers that will encourage you to maintain a consistent prayer life! When times get rough, you don’t need a “yes" man or someone that simply “hopes" things get better for you.. you need prayer warriors who are ready to intercede on your behalf! There is so much power in corporate prayer!
James 5:16 NLT
"Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results."
You can’t expect more out of 2017 with the same old prayer life you had in 2016. Step up your game. And that goes for EVERYTHING in your walk! Prayer, reading the Word, worship, fellowship, etc! If you want God to pour more into you, you must pour more out to Him!

So let God work his will in you. Yell a loud no to the Devil and watch him scamper. Say a quiet yes to God and he’ll be there in no time. Quit dabbling in sin. Purify your inner life. Quit playing the field. Hit bottom, and cry your eyes out. The fun and games are over. Get serious, really serious. Get down on your knees before the Master; it’s the only way you’ll get on your feet.
