“Dear brothers
and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly
should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be
careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself. Share each other’s
burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ. If you think you are too
important to help someone, you are only fooling yourself. You are not that
important. Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the
satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to
anyone else. For we are each responsible for our own conduct.”Galatians 6:1-5
NLT
We all have our individual burdens,
some weigh heavier and / or are much more redundant than others. So how do we
deal with them?
• we're supposed to be embedded in a supportive
and loving community that can help us bare our burdens. Build and maintain REAL
relationships.
• Many of our burdens are spiritual and we try
to deal with them in a carnal (worldly) matter. It's not gonna work. Deal with
it in the spirit.
• Don't be judgemental when it comes to helping
others carry their burdens. They'll most likely in a place you used to be in.
• Stop asking the wrong people to help you
carry your burdens. You'll only be even more overwhelmed. Find dependable,
spiritual people.
• We are a flawed body of Christ but we should
still love each other and be there for each other.
• God ordains the people necessary to help you
carry the burdens in your life. Reach out to those He has made available to
you.
• Be a good steward! If you don't treat people
right you can't expect to have a good support system!
• Don't help people with their burdens because
you think you're going to get something in return, do it because God ordained
you to!
• A lot of Christians feel like they are too
holy to ask for help. Don't let the fear of embarrassment hold you back from
getting help.
• You also have to bare your own burden. Don't
allow someone to do more for you than you are doing for yourself. You
shouldn't be tripping when people do average. TREAT YO SELF. GRIND FOR YO SELF.
• Evaluating who's lessening your burdens and
who's adding on to them. Sometimes you have to drop people. By the time the
right people have helped you, you should be able to finish carrying the burden
yourself.
• Christians love to pretend like everything is okay. We
need to stop pressuring the body of Christ of lie. We should be comfortable to
come and lay down our burdens at the altar / battle them with the people of
Christ.
• Allow your burdens to be a vehicle of
revelation. Humble yourself and give it to God. We're not made to deal with
them alone.
He's calling for those who are burdened to
come and receive His rest. “Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are
weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28 NLT.
