W.I.S.D.O.M. - Part One

This post is the first that I will be doing on W.I.S.D.O.M. which is short for "Working to Intentionally Seek the Direction of the Master." The Lord placed it on my heart to share this message of wisdom and what it means to have the wisdom of God versus the wisdom of the world.

Dear Jesus Lover,

You are a fool. You are a fool in the eyes of the world when you are absolutely crazy for Jesus Christ. When you laid down your old life and changed your ways, people had an issue wrapping their heads around your Jesus. If only they would stop trying to wrap their heads around the Almighty Father and just let Him into their minds. They wouldn't stop with all the questions.
How can we believe in someone we cannot see or touch? Jesus.
How can we still have joy when the world is so corrupt? Jesus.
We miss Jesus when we think we can conceive His unlimited power in our very limited minds. The scripture says that His thoughts are not our thoughts and His ways are not our ways. (Isaiah 55:8)

Often times we pray for wisdom, knowledge, and understanding, but we fail to distinguish these concepts.

Let's focus of wisdom and knowledge. Their common definitions are as follows:
  • wisdom: the quality of having experience, knowledge, and good judgment; the quality of being wise
  • knowledge: acts, information, and skills acquired by a person through experience or education; the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject.
Wisdom is applied knowledge. In fact, it's a developed body of knowledge that shapes you and your decisions throughout your life. This applies to any area of the body of knowledge accessible to us on this Earth. The wisdom of God, however, is not as easy to obtain, because it is does not just require knowledge. It requires truth.

And what is truth? The gospel of Jesus Christ.
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (John 14:6 KJV)

Partnership with Jesus leads to intimacy with the Father.

Until we accept the Jesus in our lives by faith and allow the Spirit of God to dwell in us, we will not have Godly wisdom. The wisdom of God comes from relationship, and as the scriptures says, Jesus is the only way to the Father.

Intimacy unlocks the mystery.

Not only must you acknowledge Jesus in your life as a mediator (1 Timothy 2:5), you must also acknowledge the Holy Spirit, who is our advocate (1 John 14:26-27)

No, the wisdom we speak of is the mystery of God—his plan that was previously hidden, even though he made it for our ultimate glory before the world began. (1 Corinthians 2:7 NLT)

We gain access to the mysteries of God and to His direction to take us to our ultimate glory when we grow in intimate relationship with Him!

Since God in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never know him through human wisdom, he has used our foolish preaching to save those who believe. (1 Corinthians 1:21 NLT)

We cannot expect supernatural blessings from merely natural abilities, AKA our own power. God is waiting to reveal His plans for us, but the door is locked, and the Spirit of  God is the key! All we need to do is submit! Let go of your agenda and the dominion you think you have over your own life. God gave us dominion over everything but ourselves. We are products of His grace and vessels for His glory. God says it Himself in 2 Corinthians 12:9-11 that His power is made best in our weakness. In order to receive Godly wisdom we must understand that the wisdom of this world is insufficient and leaves us weak and armor-less against the forces that work against us.

Mystery unlocks identity. Identity unlocks assignment.

But people who aren't spiritual can't receive these truths from God's Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can't understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means. 1 Corinthians 2:14 NLT)

Walking in truth but not walking in Spirit is missing God, because you are not living in a lifestyle that calls you to true relationship with the Father and real action in His kingdom. It's like getting a degree and not doing anything substantial with the agency you have, or maybe having a toolbox at your disposal and leaving it untouched. Without the Spirit, we cannot be poured into, therefore we cannot pour out as believers should!

Here's an equation worth remembering:
Wisdom of God = knowledge + truth. This can only be obtained through the Spirit.
Truth = intimate relationship with Jesus and understanding of His Word

Without truth we are nothing but people who know Scripture, people who constantly deny our power as believers and eventually become stumbling blocks in the body of Christ. (2 Timothy 3:5 NLT)

Knowledge - Truth = foolishness (wisdom of the world)

"This foolish plan of God is wiser than the wisest of human plans, and God’s weakness is stronger than the greatest of human strength." (1 Corinthians 1-25 NLT)

Our wildest dreams are nothing compared to what God has in store for us. The sooner we understand that our identity is in Christ, the sooner we can unlock His plans for our lives through intimate relationship and walk in the power which He has given us.

"and then I will find out not only how these arrogant people are talking, but what power they have. For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of POWER." (1 Corinthians 4:19-20)

Wisdom of God is reflected in....
Building of Intimacy.
Revelation of Mystery.
Establishment of Identity.
Fulfillment of Assignment.
Activation of Power.

Ensure that you are constantly walking in His wisdom and desiring to grow in His wisdom, for it is the only way we can fulfill the purpose for which He has called us.
